About Us
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I spent approx. 10 years working in the construction industry for a local roofing company as the Office Manager/Safety Co-ordinator. I always had a passion for the Safety Co-ordinator aspect of my job and obtained training and certification as a COR auditor through the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM).
Working in a small company was like working with your family and best friends everyday! I was concerned for my co-workers Safety on the job site each day because I truly cared about these guys. Even though I was not on the tools each day I understood how frustrating it could be for the employees to implement new safety procedures into their daily routine and to follow safety protocol 100% of the time. At first this was a difficult task but quickly found that it was all in the approach! I knew these guys professionally and personally so I was able to find what worked for them and how to get them on board. Respect is key and it has to be earned.
I want to work with business owners, managers and employees in the construction industry to make sure that everyone goes home at the end of the day.
My main objectives for Christie Safety Consulting:
-Take away the stigma that is surrounded by Safe Work and Safe Work Procedures in the construction industry
-Educate and accommodate clients with my personal approach
-Strive to make workplace incidents a thing of the past (all incidents are preventable!)
